I was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. After moving to Johannesburg to follow a career in TV, film, and music, I became a Christian and worked for a large non-denominational church in the Johannesburg area.

In 1994, I emigrated to the United States, becoming a US citizen in 2003. My career veered off into the political arena, which included working for the Speaker of the U. S House of Representatives, followed by positions in various non-profit organizations.

I live in Arlington, Virginia with two Pomeranians, one that looks like a baby wolf and the other a small bear. The small bear, aptly named “Bear” had to have one his legs amputated but hops through life with a big smile on his face. Recently an abandoned cat with special needs joined the family.
