My Paw in His
“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. Pooh! He whispered. Yes, Piglet?
Nothing, said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw. I just wanted to be sure of you.”
I love this passage by A.A. Milne from The Complete Tales of Winnie the Pooh. Sometimes, like Piglet, I feel very small and lonely in a very big and overwhelming world. But then I sidle up to Jesus and slip my paw into His and I feel safe. With my paw safely tucked into His firm grip, I know I have the Creator of the Universe taking care of me and all is good. He will never leave me, never forsake, and never let go of my hand.
Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast (Psalm 139:10 NIV)
Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand (Psalm 73:23 NRSV)
For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you’ (Isaiah 41:13 NKJV)
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands (Isaiah 49:16 NIV).
