His Will Is His Love

His Will Is His Love

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord,
thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
(Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV)

When I read the comment “His will is His love,” I had an “aha” moment. I, like many people, viewed God’s will as something that would be incredibly hard to do and, more than likely, be extremely unpleasant, such as being sent to be a missionary in a remote, terrifying place populated with man-eating plants and bugs the size of pterodactyls.

However, once the truth dawned on me that His will is always underpinned by His immeasurable, all-encompassing love, my perception totally changed. I began not to fear, but to instead feel excitement and anticipation for what He has planned for me.

God is my loving, heavenly Father so no matter what His plans are for me, they will come from His heart of love. Jesus, who is “the express image of His person” (Hebrews 1:3), said:

If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! (Luke 11:11-13 NKJV).

God even uses all our mistakes, trials, struggles, and heartache to skillfully weave the beautiful fabric of our lives.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 NKJV).

We don’t need to walk in fear of His will. It will always be the absolute best for us. Of that there is no doubt.
