Kingdom Perspective

Kingdom Perspective

For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.
(Psalm 50:10 NIV)

Nothing I have is mine. All is given to me by Him. Therefore, it is my duty to share all that I have. Simple. That is kingdom perspective.

We now have “Giving Tuesday,” a movement to create an international day of charitable giving. It falls after “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” which are all about consumerism. “Giving Tuesday” is a breath of fresh air in an increasingly commercialized Christmas season. It makes us stop and think of those who are less fortunate, and gives us the opportunity to help.

But the Christmas season is also a time when the demands on our heartstrings and purse strings grow often causing anxiety to set in. How much do we give? Who should we be giving to? How can we give to everyone, although we wish we could? Will we have enough for our own needs if we do give?

The answer is to rely on the Holy Spirit to lead us to give in the right amount at the right time. We can rest in Him and give without fear, knowing He will take care of all our needs.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19 NKJV).

Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need (Matthew 6:32-33 NLT).
