The God of "I Will"

The God of "I Will"

I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.
(Psalm 32:8 NLT)

One morning during my quiet time, I met the God of “I will.” I’d been struggling through a valley of depression and was tired and despondent. So I told Him how I felt, honestly and truthfully, no holds barred. God knows what’s in my heart anyway, so there is no point in trying to hide it. He is big enough to handle my doubts and questions. He knows I love and trust Him. The fact I can come to Him and tell Him I am not okay is proof of that.

He answered as I flipped through my Bible. Scripture after scripture of “I WILL” came before me. Not “I may” or “I could” but “I WILL.” The emphasis in each verse below is mine.

The Lord WILL fight for you; you need only to be still (Exodus 14:14 NIV).

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. But those who hope in the Lord, WILL renew their strength. They WILL soar on wings like eagles; they WILL run and not grow weary, they WILL walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:29, 31 NIV).

And I WILL give you a new heart – I WILL give you new and right desires - and put a new spirit within you (Ezekiel 36:26 TLB).

I am with you and WILL watch over you wherever you go (Genesis 28:15 NIV).

I WILL instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I WILL guide you with My eye (Psalm 32:8 NKJV).

You WILL keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on you (Isaiah 26:3 NLT).

No matter how dark the outlook is or how despondent you are, He WILL come to you. He WILL take care of you. He WILL comfort you. He WILL guide you. He WILL!
