Wounded Souls

Wounded Souls

The souls of the wounded cry out.
(Job 24:12 NKJV)

Is your soul wounded? Your heart pierced? Are you bruised? Are you battered? Are you bleeding? Have you given up on hope?

Some wounds cut deep, and you wonder if it is possible for them to ever completely heal. You silently keep walking but you continue to bleed, slowly and sluggishly.

This particular injury is deep because the blow landed from someone you trusted and respected. Someone to whom you were vulnerable. Someone you may even have loved.

Worse, the blow came from someone in the body of Christ. You were injured by someone in your own family. The ones who are supposed to protect and look out for you. Still worse, he walked away without even a backward look. He was totally uncaring about the damage and heartache he left in his wake.

Now you look at your family in Christ and wonder which one is going to be next—the next one to use you, hurt you, and then drop you like a used tissue.

But there is one Person who knows what it is like to be betrayed by a friend. He experienced the ultimate betrayal, and for a pathetic thirty pieces of silver. No matter our hurts, we will never suffer betrayal at that level.

So go to Him, hold onto His Hand. He understands the pain and confusion. He will bring you through. He will bring you peace and healing. He did it for me. He will do it for you.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3 NKJV).
